Q. Why is my carving developing cracks?
A. Due to the basic nature of wood, are of our products may eventually develop small cracks and chaffing. This happens because as the wood ages and dries it also tends to contract, causing pressure cracks to develop. The best way to avoid cracking is to oil your carving regularly. The oils will help the wood to retain moisture, thus reducing or eliminating cracks.
Q. Why doesn't my carving look exactly like the pictures on your website?
A. The pictures on our website are only examples of the work we have done in the past. Each piece is a unique work of art. Each piece will reflect not only the mood of the carver but also the natural shape and grains of the wood used. Sometimes this may mean changing the carving slightly to accommodate the presence of knots and cracks in the wood.
